DE&I Operations Intern (Summer 2023)

The Opportunity:

The Operations Intern will work closely with our Global DE&I Leaders and our internal DE&I committee, Engage the Change, to support our DE&I initiatives. All applicants must be able and willing to work 20 hours per week from June 5th to August 11th, with one day of the week in our Durham, NC office. This internship will pay $16/hour.

Your Mission:

• Plan and support DE&I initiatives
• Support Engage the Change by reviewing previous tasks and events to analyze the success rate and alignment with our goals and mission 
• Assist in the Mentorship Program by working with mentors and mentees to make improvements
• Assist with defining corporate structure to generate Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) including specifics on how one should be created, structured, etc.
• Update and add content to our DE&I hub Wiki Page
• Conduct research on community connections within Durham to establish who we should be connected with as a company 
• Research on Community Outreach to further DE&I in the communities where our employees work and live
• Create project plans and status updates for the various projects 
• Research, document, and implement best practices for DE&I activities
• Research underrepresented groups sources, including but not limited to job boards, meetups, and local school contacts, to widen our talent pool

What you need to succeed:

• Understanding of DE&I and its importance within organizations and our community
• Ability to conduct and apply methods for research
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Attention to detail
• Self-driven work ethic
• Seeking a degree from an accredited university
