But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. We are seeking a Demand Generation Manager!
The Demand Generation Manager will be a leader in building our sales pipeline and brand awareness. You will leverage customer data and insights to launch highly targeted, always-on omnichannel campaigns to provide best-in-class lead experiences throughout the prospect and lead journey. This candidate will work with the broader Marketing and Sales teams to generate interest in Backblaze solutions and nurture prospects and leads through various stages to ultimately acquire them as a paying customer.
We seek an experienced leader who has led a B2B SaaS self-service and sales-assisted demand generation team. You are well-versed with the appropriate martech stack required to make your vision come to life. Candidates must set the strategy while rolling up their sleeves to get the work done in a collaborative environment. Most importantly, you will create a demand generation engine to drive a quality sales pipeline via paid channels that can be scaled and repeatable. Additionally, you will support brand advertising efforts to improve brand awareness.
What You'll Do:
- This role requires a combination of business strategy, operational acumen, tactical execution, data analytics, and a deep understanding of prospect and lead funnels for both B2B and B2C SaaS subscription models.
- Lead demand generation and support brand advertising initiatives to ensure the best prospect and lead experience by creating awareness, promoting free trials or sales leads and ultimately converting leads to paying customers
- Use data and insights as a basis for all decisions, optimizations, and A/B tests
- Report out key performance metrics on a weekly/monthly basis and develop monetization trends and sales strategies to optimize our investment for ROI
- Establish coordinated and consistent content arcs among different channels and creative executions
- Stand up new paid channels that have yet to be explored at Backblaze
- Partner with BDRs, SDRs, and Sales on programs to move sales-assisted leads to closed won
- Establish a lead scoring criteria for the full lead funnel and partner with GTM teams to build ideal customer profile models
- Monitor the market to keep ahead of best practices, best-in-class vendor opportunities, and strategies of our competitors and other leading marketers.
The Right Fit:
- 5+ years of B2B SaaS demand generation and brand advertising experience; both as an individual contributor and as a manager
- 2+ years as a people manager and a track record of developing and maintaining talent
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a similar field
- Experience in both sales-assisted and self-service sales motions
- Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to take large sets of data and make sensible decisions
- A self-starter who thrives amid ambiguity
- Have an ownership mindset towards making an impact, successes and failures
- A strong communicator who is comfortable presenting to senior leaders

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.
The base pay range for this position is $92,000 to $135,000
