Demand Planner (18 month contract)
Job Description
Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Demand Planner (18 month contract). This is a contract position that can be based at the Burlington, ON Eaton HQ or Perth, ON manufacturing facility and offers a hybrid working schedule.
What you'll do:
This position will analyze, establish, and execute the planning, ordering, scheduling of material to meet the master production schedule. In addition, the position will ensure an acceptable level of material is available to support the manufacturing and sales of products for the Perth facility.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manage demand forecast for the dedicated product group, create, and maintain consensus demand forecast at SKU level, applying intelligence adjustments from internal and external sources when applicable.
- Review historical demand data, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, collaborate closely with sales, marketing, productions, SCM functions of the sister sites to ensure the most accurate forecast possible, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
- Actively participate in IBP (Integrated Business Planning) and SIOP (Sales, inventory, Operations Planning) processes.
- Identify and resolve the changes in demand forecast, prioritize the orders for foresee supply constrain, drive solutions to mitigate the risk of service level (stock fill rate and on time delivery) impact and sales lost.
- Create/reschedule POs to replenish material.
- Expedite shipments with internal and external suppliers and transportation services providers.
- Analyze, prioritize and communicate shortages to production.
- Manage inventory including analyzing planning parameters, coordinating the dispositions of excess and obsolete materials and setting up/maintaining Item Master attributes.
- Manage MRP and MPS exception messages.
- Review, update and reschedule customer orders, discrete jobs and purchase orders and internal orders to maintain current and up-to-date master production schedules.
- Communicate with Order Management to maintain a current master schedule.
- Research current and potential material shortages, putting corrective actions in place. Submit cost reduction ideas through the "CHIP-IN" process.
- Support cost reduction projects, implement lean manufacturing principles and other improvement initiative to achieve overall business objectives.
- Other duties/projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
Basic (required) Qualifications
- Post secondary diploma or bachelor's degree from accredited institution
- Three (3) years of experience in Materials planning, Inventory Planning or Master Scheduling in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now or in the future
- This position requires the ability travel to our Perth, ON manufacturing facility 25% of the time if currently located in the Burlington, ON area. If currently located near Perth, ON it will require 10% travel to Burlington, ON HQ.
- No relocation offered - must currently reside within 80km of the posted working locations to be considered
Preferred qualifications:
- Post secondary diploma or bachelor's degree specializing in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business or related field
- SCMP, CPIM or APICS certifications
- Oracle ERP software experience
- Advanced knowledge of purchasing techniques and supplier management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization including senior management
- Strong knowledge of engineered products
- Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team
