We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a DePaul Legal Scholar. Thisis a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2-3 days aweek in the office.The primary purpose of the fellowship is to provide Fellow with valuable learning experience and exposure to Entity's practice, specifically in the area of health law.

The DePaul Summer Scholars Job Placement Program, funded bythe DePaul University College of Law Mary and Michael Jaharis Health LawInstitute and the Jaharis Foundation, provides qualified first and second-yearDePaul health law students with paid summer positions at some of the mostdistinguished law firms and health organizations in Chicago.

The Summer Scholars program is designed to provide studentswith a substantive summer work experience in the area of health law. The SummerScholars program provides a $5000 stipend to the student, who in turn works fora minimum of eight weeks over the summer for one of DePaul's PartnerInstitutions. The Partner Institution designate a supervising attorney orattorneys, who are expected to give substantive work assignments to thestudents at their discretion, as well as to supervise the students and provideappropriate feedback. In return, the Partner Institutions obtain quality workfrom soon-to-be lawyers at no cost. The Scholar will be in a learningsituation, however, and is not an employee of the Partner Institution or ofDePaul.

As a DePaul Legal Scholar participate in a minimum 8-week fellowship at AMA during the summer 2022 term in order to learn more about the practice of health law.

Responsibilities:

• Researchstate and federal laws relevant to Science, Medicine, and Public Health'sactivities and reports.
• Assist in the development of background materials on proposed AMA policies.
• Observe the AMA's policy making and implementation process.
• Review the evidence to support scientific/public health policies.

Requirements:

1. AMA's safety and policy protocols require proof of vaccination against COVID19 for employment at AMA. Employees may apply for a religious or medical exemption from getting the vaccine.
