Job SummaryThis role supports member facing employees with advanced issues regarding deposit related products and services. The individual in this role takes ownership of issues and proactively works to provide positive member experiences, educate, and support employees, improve processes, and ensure accuracy based on policies and regulations.

SCHEDULE

An effective Senior Deposit Operations Specialist must be able to perform each job duty successfully.
- Answer incoming phone calls from internal employees and members by assisting with their processes, answering questions and resolving issues.
- Proactively take ownership of issues and work closely with front-line employees and members through to resolution, delivering a high-quality member experience.
- Research and resolve complex deposit issues, including questions regarding IRAβs, Trusts, special accounts, Power of Attorney, notary, Medallion Guarantor, Chex systems, deceased member accounts, tax corrections and other related needs.
- Review and interpret trusts, court ordered documents, and other legal documents to ensure accurate membership eligibility and account ownership.
- Perform timely and accurate processing of deceased member accounts, including but not limited to: thorough account review, account coding, records research, blocking cards, updating member memos, updating account access, and other tasks as necessary. Proactively follow-up with representatives of the deceased member as needed.Β
- Regularly audit and review trust, POA, IRA, etc. and other documentation to verify accuracy and adherence to regulations and organizational policies.
- Evaluate existing processes and procedures and provide recommendations for improvement of member and employee interactions with the Deposit Operations team, products and services.
- Work with leadership to establish, update, and maintain policies, procedures, and other documentation essential to deposit operations and the credit union.
- Be accountable to goals and performance standards established by the organization and management.
- Other duties as assigned.

Experience
Five years of financial industry or related experience.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Licenses, Certificates, Registrations

Computer/Office Equipment Skills
- Intermediate level skill for Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Experience working with Teams, WebEx, Zoom, etc.
- Experience with core banking systems (Symitar) preferred.
Language Skills
Must have the ability to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in written and oral form.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Advanced professional communication skills (professional phone etiquette, clearly articulate information to others, quality interaction both in person and over the phone).
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of credit union policy and procedures and deposit products regulation.
- Understanding of IRS and guidelines as it pertains to Deposit Operations products.
- Understanding of the banking and NCUA regulations, as they pertain to Deposit Operations products.
- Meet productivity and service standard measurements in a work-from-home environment.
- Highly skilled at training and coaching others on products and services of the credit union.

Weight Lifted or Force Exerted
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally may need to lift up to 50 pounds.
Environmental
Ability to work from home with internet access in a quiet area free from disturbances. Position also requires ability to work at the corporate building when assigned. There are no other unusual environmental factors.
Noise Environment
Moderate noise (business office with computers and printers, light traffic.
