Summary
The Office of Research Services (ORS), in the National Institutes of Health is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Deputy Director for Security, Safety, and Campus Services. This is a career Federal position in the Senior Executive Service - a talented team of men and women charged with leading the continuing transformation of our government. Qualifications

Candidates must possess experience at the senior level (GS-14/15 level or equivalent) in the following job-specific Professional/Technical Qualifications (PTQs). The PTQs measure the technical expertise required by this position and must be addressed within your five-page resume.
PROFESSIONAL/TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (PTQs) (Mandatory):
1. Demonstrated experience in providing direction and leadership for a wide range of diverse safety, security, and staff support services for a major medical organization.
2. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing an organization's strategic plan, goals, objectives, and initiatives and planning for the resources to achieve the strategic and mission-focused direction.
3. Ability to oversee the implementation and use of innovative, state-of-the-art methods and techniques to carry out and improve programs and services and ensure they meet stakeholder needs and regulatory requirements.
4. Senior level experience in representing an organization to a variety of stakeholders including Federal, state, local and professional organizations and other senior leaders and building relationships, fostering and open exchange of information, collaboration, and negotiating with them to achieve joint strategic priorities and resolution of issues.
5. Senior level experience which demonstrates a commitment to building strong working relationships that advance diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.

- A Non-career SES appointee is approved by the White House and serves at the pleasure of the appointing official without time limitations (5 CFR 317 Subpart F).

NIH is located in Bethesda, MD; our campus is adjacent to downtown Bethesda, MD, at the Medical Center Metro station, and close to shops, walking trails, and restaurants.
Travel and Transportation expenses may be authorized in accordance with applicable Federal Travel Regulations governing the relocation of current Federal employees and new appointees.
A one-year probationary period must be served by the individual selected if not currently or previously in the career Senior Executive Service.
