Location
Preference will be given to candidates who will work on-site in Arlington, Virginia. You must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Bixal does not provide visa sponsorship. 

What will you do?
As a Deputy Privacy Lead, you will be responsible for assisting the Privacy Lead in all matters related to data privacy within the organization. You would be responsible for monitoring data protection compliance and advocating for privacy best practices. The Deputy Privacy Lead will be embedded within a team responsible for providing supporting USAID M/CIO/IA’s transformation to a mature and fully integrated Information Assurance program.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the Privacy Lead to update and/or implement privacy policies across the organization,
  • Reviewing privacy risk assessments to identify areas of risk and advising on appropriate measures to mitigate those risks,
  • Acting as a liaison between the organization and regulatory authorities and accrediting bodies in matters related to data privacy.
  • Providing recommendations to update employee privacy training and providing guidance on privacy matters,
  • Assisting with privacy reporting and accountability, and
  • Keeping up-to-date with new privacy regulations and guidelines and recommending adjustments to policies and procedures as required.
  • Your ultimate goal would be to ensure that the organization’s data protection policies adhere to best practices while reducing risks and supporting overall business objectives.
  • Resource must be able to be on site 4 days of the week during transition with opportunity to change frequency depending on team need after transition.
  • Participate in client events and forums to positively represent the organization and develop and maintain relationships with the industry.
  • As appropriate, play an active role in new client acquisition by supporting business development initiatives to enhance and grow Bixal's business in each of the areas that it works. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems security.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to be onsite 4 days per week during transition with opportunity to change frequency depending on team needs after transition.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Active security clearance preferred or be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
