Design and UX Contractors

START DATE: Ongoing

LOCATION: Remote

POSITION: Part-time / ongoing contract. Possibility for full-time if desired.

CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

1. At least 5 years in design and/or UX for the web
   1. Design experience/portfolio must have a strong focus on websites (mobile apps, web apps, and branding design are also interesting)
   2. Must be able to handle serious, complex websites, such as higher education, corporate, and high-content / high-traffic sites
      
2. Some sort of design or UX portfolio that you can share
   

HARD REQUIREMENTS: 

• Must be able to overlap at least 4 working hours in Central Time Zone.

In this position, you will facilitate the design and/or user experience of client websites. No brochureware here – we only create highly usable websites and digital experiences. Beauty and creativity, while important, come secondary to usability. 

QUALIFICATIONS

For UX: 

• Solid understanding of content strategy, information architecture, and tools for UX and user research
• User-centered design approach
• Design thinking
• Ability to be client-facing and guide client through design discovery

For design: 

• User-centered design approach
• Design thinking

NICE TO HAVE

• Basic technical understanding of how CMS websites work
  • To ensure you're designing in ways that make sense for programmers to implement and content admins to populate
