Design Associate, Future of Finance Accelerator in Amsterdam 2024

As an Associate  you will help build the next amazing batch of startups, as they grow from early stage to venture-backed companies. From entrepreneurs, to investors, to mentors, your network is about to explode. You will have the opportunity to sit in on mentor meetings – get to know the best entrepreneurs and investors in the city, up close and personally. You will also have access to full involvement in Techstars social events with the founders and local community.

It’s basically a chance to get amazing experience, broaden your network in ways you could never imagine, get exposure to some of the greatest up and coming companies and teams in the country. Historically, most associates end up being employed by one of the teams or by someone they met during the span of the three months. Many also go on to build their own companies.

General Job Description

This role is responsible for the administrative duties and operational execution throughout the duration of the accelerator program. Logistics experience as well as familiarity with the early stage venture backed company ecosystem is preferred. A willingness to learn and comfort tackling new problems is a must. Role Overview:
As a Design Associate, you will be a critical part of the Techstars accelerator program, working closely with both founders and the program team to bring their creative visions to life. You’ll support startups with design needs ranging from branding to product visuals, while also assisting the program team with creating marketing materials, event collateral, and overall visual communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Founders: Work directly with founders to understand their design needs, helping them create compelling visuals, pitch decks, branding assets, and marketing materials.
• Program Support: Assist the program team with the creation of visually appealing content for events, workshops, social media, and program-related communications.
• Design Consultation: Offer feedback and guidance to founders on improving their branding, user experience, and product design.
• Branding & Visual Identity: Help startups refine their branding, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints—websites, presentations, social media, and printed materials.
• Workshop Materials: Design presentations, handouts, and other materials for program workshops, demo days, and key events.
• Event Collateral: Develop visuals for in-person and virtual events, including banners, signs, and slide decks.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Team player 
• Works well under high pressure enviornents
• Strong experience with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, etc.).
• A solid understanding of branding, UI/UX design, and digital product design.
• Experience working with startups or in fast-paced environments is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and founders.
• A portfolio showcasing a range of design work across mediums.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, with strong time management.

Start date: October 2024 

Please note that this is a temporary contract position until December 2024. It is required to live in Amsterdam or willing to relocate for the duration of the program.
