Design & Buying Manager

This is an exciting newly created role leading both our amazing Design & Buying teams at an exciting time for us!
This role will play a critical part in shaping our product direction, ensuring that Showpo continues to deliver trend and commercially driven, high-quality collections that resonate with our customers. As a key decision-maker, you’ll manage the product lifecycle from concept to delivery, aligning with our brand identity while meeting business goals.
Day to day, you will
- Lead, coach and mentor an incredible team who have a real thirst to learn!
- Provide clear guidance on priorities, workflows, and timelines, ensuring team alignment with company goals
- Drive the creative vision for product collections, ensuring alignment with Showpo’s brand identity and customer profile
- Oversee the end-to-end product development process, from initial concepts to final production.
- Collaborate with the Merchandise Planning team to align designs and buying decisions with sales forecasts and inventory targets
- Ensure a cohesive approach to design and buying, maintaining a balanced mix of trend-driven (in collaboration with our Trend Forecaster) and evergreen styles
- Conduct regular reviews of product performance, identifying opportunities to improve and innovate
- Partner with Marketing and eCommerce teams to ensure product launches are supported with compelling campaigns.
- Work closely with the Head of Brand and other stakeholders to align product strategy with broader business objectives
- Approve final designs and product selections to ensure quality, market relevance, and profitability
Who are we looking for?
- Experience in fashion design, buying, or similar leadership role, with a strong understanding of both creative and commercial processes.
- Demonstrated success in managing and mentoring teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent knowledge and passion for the fashion industry, trends, and market dynamics, including customer insights.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in assortment planning, product lifecycle management, and vendor relations
- Ideally you will have worked within a similar organisation
