As a Design Engineer in Sustaining Engineering you will develop your project management skills and gain mechanical design experience to plan and execute medical device design and development projects focused on Sustaining Engineering of commercialized products.

T his position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement in which you can work part-time at the Company location identified above and part-time remotely from your home. Additional information about this hybrid work arrangement will be provided by your interview team.

Some of the critical things you will do in this position:

  • Performs design and analysis (such as tolerance analysis, FEA, DOE's, simulated use testing, etc.), and leads design activities of high complexity product elements
  • Provide leadership on a multi-functional project team through all phases of the design control process. This includes planning and executing projects from concept through the launch.
  • Support and/or lead multiple, simultaneous product changes based on defined needs of the business (e.g., product enhancement or obsolescence)
  • Work closely with other members of the team and suppliers (e.g., quality, regulatory, manufacturing) to execute product changes
  • Perform component and assembly evaluations and qualifications.
  • Significantly contribute to aspects of project management including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and contingency planning.

    Required Education, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor degree (BS) in mechanical or biomedical engineering (or related field equivalent) with mechanical emphasis required.
  • Previous Engineering Co-Op or Internship experience in medical device industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical processes and capabilities that impact design.
  • Knowledge in the application of design controls and development processes preferred.
  • Understanding of risk assessment activities and risk mitigation techniques helpful.
  • Working knowledge of CAD; SolidWorks a plus.
