BASIC PURPOSEOF JOB AND PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

The Design Engineer, Product Integration will be responsible for the development of the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical interface between the tractor and front loader for various tractor brands. The development of new products is often done in close cooperation with the customer. This role will be managing several parallel projects and be responsible for the deliveries in those projects, from conception to completion; according to the project plan. Is responsible for building a contact network and will have the autonomy to plan, control and report ongoing and future tasks to accomplish this function.

Requirements

MAIN DUTIES:• Projects lead at new development of all product adaptations at assigned tractor brand(s) requested by marketing and sales and/or OEM-customer and in close cooperation with requester, following the customers time plan.• Design of new product adaptation products and maintenance of existing products• Responsible for building a global contact network, planning, controlling and reporting on all ongoing and future tasks.• Plans ongoing projects and designs new products together with Alo teams in US and Sweden.• Support LÖ's sales and support organization by updating the product configurator and support with cause of failure investigations within the area of reasonability• Conducts field work performing 3D-scanning and measuring new tractors, prototype test fits and product audits often at or together with the customer.• Performs successfully under time pressure with several parallel projects ongoing at the same time

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment and non-climate controlled manufacturing facility and/or dealer workshops.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:• High level of customer communication skills needed.• Meticulous, structured and ability to independently make sound design related decisions.• Ability to forge positive working relationships within a team structure, both domestically and globally• Effective communication (oral and written), interpersonal organizational skills• Excellent time management and prioritization skills• Demonstrated project management experience and skills• Courage to ask for assistance when additional knowledge will be required in order to meet deliveries.• Ability to work well under time pressures to meet project deadlines.• Ability to travel occasionally (approximately once weekly/monthly) in North America.• Ability to travel infrequently internationally. Valid passport required or the ability to obtain a valid passport.• Strong working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD)

EDUCATION/OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION:• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Masters degree is a plus• Minimum 3-5 years previous experience in industrial design. Experience with welded sheet metal construction preferred.• Previous experience with vehicle hydraulics and/or electronics is preferred• General technical interest and practical hands on skills is preferred
