Design Engineer - The Toro Company

The Design Engineer will be supporting Greensmower DCI projects, within the Commercial engineering department. This individual will be responsible for leading design and development initiatives that facilitate design improvements, cost savings and DFMA for the product line. The individual will also partner closely with fellow designers and engineers within the division to support needs for current and at times new product lines.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

• Designs, develops, and enhances new and existing products/product lines.
• Evaluates and recommends specifications and ensures products meet the technical and functional requirements.
• Coordinates and participates in feasibility, functionality, and quality testing of designs.
• Begins forming and leading cross functional teams while learning processes and organization.
• Works with other members of the engineering and technical support staff to ensure project milestones are met and that projects are completed according to established timelines.
• Works with vendors to finalize designs and coordinate production implementation. Helps assure that the vendor meets the requirements of the design.
• Contributes to projects/designs with an established framework.

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

• Professional Engineering license in a related field or Bachelors or master's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautical or Agricultural Engineering
• Knowledge and understanding of CAD software
• Experience with design documentation, product design, product requirements, testing results analysis and CAD design
• Understanding and experience in project management - has the ability to build and assist in following plans, executing on project plans, providing estimates for project tasks and overall workload.
• Familiar with and understanding the use of Microsoft office applications.
• Strong written and oral skills.
• Presentation skills strong preferred

Engineer I - 0-2 years' experience, Engineer II - 2-4 years' experience
