Design Engineering

Job Description

Duties:

Will check the accuracy, form, and fit of mechanical designs per given tool. The objective is to confirm designed tools meet intended functional build/performance requirements. Must understand customer design and build specifications.

Responsibilities:
• Checks all aspects of given tool design for intended use and cost effectiveness.• Assist the Mechanical Engineering Manager / Supervisor and/or Leader in conducting engineering assignments.• Attends customer, vendor and internal reviews when required.• Support inquiries from build suppliers and shop personnel for engineering problems and associated issues.• Ensures designs are cost effective and robust for product lifecycle.• Mentors and guides Mechanical Designers where opportunities exist to enhance skillsets.• Works as a team player in group and with other departments.• Other duties as assigned.• Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct

Minimum Requirement:• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or minimum of 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional Recommendations:• NX experience required.

• Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures• Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods• Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts • Report defect in any equipment or protective device• Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks• Attend all required health, safety, and environmental training• Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor• Assist in investigating accidents/incidents• Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conduct
