About the Role

As a Design Sourcer at OpenAI you will play an essential role in identifying and engaging exceptional design talent for our Product and Communications Design teams. Collaborating closely with design leaders you’ll develop sourcing strategies and leverage industry insights to build a proactive pipeline of candidates who align with OpenAI’s mission and vision for design excellence.

In this role you will:

• Partner with design leadership to create sourcing strategies that attract talented designers who are inspired by OpenAI’s mission and the chance to make a meaningful impact.

• Build comprehensive talent maps and conduct research to stay ahead of market trends helping us proactively identify strong candidates.

• Execute targeted searches and develop thoughtful personalized outreach to connect with designers who bring the right mix of creativity craft and enthusiasm for OpenAI.

• Use a data-driven approach to track candidates and maintain a proactive healthy pipeline that meets the evolving needs of our design teams.

• Cultivate long-term relationships with top design talent identifying potential future leaders and nurturing ongoing connections.

Our ideal candidates will have:

• 7+ years of sourcing or recruiting experience ideally focused on product design or working with senior design leaders in a high-growth tech company.

• Demonstrated success in hiring top Product Design talent at a premier tech company and/or high-growth startup.

• Track record of delivering healthy candidate volume across a wide variety of roles while simultaneously maintaining a high degree of responsiveness and care to each stakeholder and candidate in process.

• A passion for the research and mapping components of Sourcing; it’s a long game.

• Have a discerning eye for high-quality product and brand design with a deep understanding of the craft and qualities that contribute to a designer’s success.

• Are skilled in building relationships and can effectively partner with senior leaders hiring managers and all levels of design talent.

• Demonstrate a strategic data-driven approach to sourcing using insights to optimize talent pipelines and sourcing strategies.

• Are adaptable resilient and curious with strong problem-solving skills.

• Communicate clearly and professionally making it easy for stakeholders and candidates to stay informed and engaged.
