We are Relish Works, an innovation hub focused on challenging the status quo and pioneering the next evolution of the food industry. While backed with the support of an established and profitable food service organization, Relish Works operates as an independent organization focused on user-centered solutions. Our efforts explore improvements to the established company's core business as well as solving for unmet customer needs, re-deploying assets and infrastructure, and developing new businesses. We are looking for hard workers, people willing to leave their ego at the door, learn from others and roll up their sleeves to do whatever job is necessary.

About the role:

This role will work on our ventures team supporting one of our key strategic start ups at Relish Works. You will be working closely with a cross-functional team of strategists, marketing experts, and product. Your work will directly influence our product strategy, product development, marketing, and brand. We will look to you to be a thought partner and executor. You will directly influence and help craft our design culture. We are looking for someone with strong problem solving skills, curiosity, and flexibility. This is not a specialist role, and this designer will work on a wide range of projects on collaborative teams.

 As a Design Strategist at Relish Works, you will:

• Work on visual design projects
  • Create graphics to help communicate our product and who we are
  • Create ads for digital platforms to promote our products (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, Pinterest, Tik Tok) 
  • Create email designs (life cycle emails, newsletters) 
  • Create assets to inform and evolve our brand 
  • Use motion design to enhance our ads (Instagram, Facebook)
• Lead UX/UI
  • Map out the user journey and experience to align rest of the team
  • Design high fidelity mock ups and prototypes to hand off to development
  • Collaborate with content strategist to ensure the website experience is approachable and inclusive 
• Support design strategy and research efforts
  • Shape and conduct user research 
  • Synthesize and communicate research findings
  • Think critically about our holistic user experience
  • Brainstorm concepts that could inform our product roadmap
• Contribute to our design culture
  • Participate in Design Reviews
  • Collaborate with other designers
  • Organize and attend skillshare meetings
  • Question and help craft our processes

You should apply if you have:

• 1-5 years of design experience 
• Strong visual and communication design skills
• Desire to lead UX projects and work closely with product management on product roadmap
• Passion and understanding of design research
• Exposure to, experience with, or eagerness to learn design strategy
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree
• Passion for the restaurant industry and restaurant workers
• Experience working in a restaurant or food service role
• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to thrive in a self-directed culture
• Openness to learn from diverse perspectives and collaborate on multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills (written, verbal)
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Google Docs + Drive
• (nice to have) Canva, Google Web Designer, Webflow
• Portfolio of work demonstrating capabilities in user-centered design methodologies
