Job Description:
- Design technologists are designers with front-end development skills.
- They tackle front-end programming, design, and UX all at the same time.
- They care about the integrity of a product's code and the quality of its look and feel.
- Through testing and research, they make sure everything works together.
- A design technologist's tool kit includes accessibility standards, responsive web design, site performance best practices, internationalization and localization techniques, native app development, core UI development, and modern front-end frameworks.
- A sensibility for the user journey and interaction design rounds things out.
- They can jump in at any design phase: wireframes, click-throughs, mocks, and prototypes at all levels of fidelity.
Additional Qualifications:
- Knowledge of design system practices to include token creation and management, applying systematic theming, and creation/management of design/development documentation for end users.
- Mastery of web development fundamentals.
- Track record of building and working with responsive, dynamic web pages.
- An eye and passion for crafting world-class web experiences.
- Fluency in React, Angular, HTML, CSS, JSON, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with modern technologies including Flexbox and CSS animations.
- Strong proficiency with version control systems, including Git.
- Expert-level experience with Web Components format and Angular or React web frameworks.
- Algorithmic thinking and programming knowledge with at least one major programming language (Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Go , C++, etc.)
- GitHub, CodePen, or other links showcasing your skills, or a UI/UX portfolio is required.
- Fluency in design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Invision, etc.).
- Deep understanding of how to create usable, accessible, and modular designs that can scale to millions of users.
- Ability to think outside the box and devise creative workarounds to technical challenges or limitations.
- Experience working and collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, rapid-growth environment.
- Experience & comfort prototyping and quickly iterating with a focus on the end user experience.
- Knowledge of reviewing and applying accessibility best practices to solutions.
- Passionately advocate for the user.
- Comfortable with agile transformation.
- A positive attitude, open mind, and desire to collaborate and learn.
