About the role:
The Designer can solve complex problems and work under the parameters and limitations of a budget while translating the vision and ideas of Blue Stream Fiber into a physical product. Designers should also be adept at communicating effectively with various groups of people.
Responsibilities for this role:
- Manage all project phases, including the development of creative design solutions, translating them into thorough design documents, and implementing through final installation.
- Work closely with the project management team including contractors to achieve a quality-built project.
- Plan and implement design schemes while maintaining the project's brand concept.
- Review construction contracts in comparison to scope for conformity.
- Design presentations at many scales, including presentation renderings and concept boards.
- Implement design, FF&E, and accessory placement for all respective projects.
- Meet with homeowner associations, businesses, and local governments to review the construction process and to address questions and concerns.
Requirements for this role:
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) and/or related experience.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft software including Power Point, Internet, e-mail, and construction and design software as required.
- CADD or other experience in using floor and space planning applications/software.
- Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Construction Administration, including submittal review and shop drawing review.
- Experience working across departments to foster strong working relationships between teams.
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities.
- Familiarity and compliance with safety standards.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to read general to complex system layouts from blueprints.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics.
- Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electrical Safety Code.
Additional Job Considerations
- Regularly visit construction sites and inspect them over varied terrain.
- Regularly required to communicate with others, speaking and listening.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, bend at the knees and waist, and walk.
- Required to use hands to type, handle objects and paperwork.
- Required to reach and hold on to items at chest level or reach above the shoulder.
- Required to use close vision and be able to focus.
