Position Description:

The Alcon Team is looking for a talented and motivated intern to join us onsite for 10-12 weeks in Summer 2023 at the Fort Worth, TX location.

Alcon interns will have the opportunity to not only gain industry experience and network with other Alcon professionals. They will also have the chance to make a real-world impact by working on meaningful projects that will help patients and customers see brilliantly. Alcon also offers interns personal and professional development, high visibility and coaching and mentoring opportunities.

Major Accountabilities -

• Display creative problem-solving skills to achieve client objectives.
• Proficient with the Macintosh OS and software including but not limited to, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Keep current with computer technology, hardware, and software.
• Possess an average to high degree of color acuity.
• Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, overall adequacy, and accuracy. Frequent internal company and external contacts.
• Assist other designers as assigned by supervisor. Maintain sensitivity to global and cultural differences as it applies to design.
• Display a high degree of professionalism, interpersonal, organizational, negotiation, presentation, teamwork, and written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly adjust to rapidly shifting priorities to achieve deadline objectives while diminishing factors that could hinder progress.
• Ensure that all projects are completed on schedule, within budgetary constraints, and are accurate.
• Prioritize and report changes in project status daily.
• Creates, and produces marketing, advertising, and sales promotion materials to implement marketing strategies and sales objectives.
• Evaluates and modifies promotion or advertising programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or High School +8yrs; Assoc. +4yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship or co-op, and at least one additional semester following internship or co-op.
• Must be pursuing at least a Bachelor's level degree in Creative Communications or Creative Design
• Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0
• Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)
• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated)
• Ability to commit to a 10-12 week, full time (40 hours per week) summer internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Prior experience with PowerPoint; ability to create and edit presentation material
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• BA or BFA Major in Graphic Arts or Advertising Design
• Portfolio of existing work that demonstrates design ability & potential.
