Your Role and Responsibilities
At IBM our design philosophy is to help guide people so they can do their best work. Because of designers at IBM planes and trains take off on time bank transactions complete in the blink of an eye and the world remains safe. The team you’ll be working on is part of the worldwide design organization for AI Applications. AI Applications is an organization in IBM that is responsible for AI-enabled solutions that assist our customers in making more informed and data-driven decisions about how to manage their business. We are looking for a talented designer to help our creative design team deliver great end-to-end customer experiences.
Responsibilities

• Translate actionable insights from the design research team and industry trends into low and high fidelity experience patterns prototypes and development-ready specifications with redlining.
• Create high-fidelity experience with mockups graphics design patterns prototypes and demos
• Conceptualize design and prototype user interfaces for IBM products.
• Use of Carbon design system on design solutions.
• Use design thinking tools to lead and deliver user centric experiences.
• Adhere to IBM’s brand guidelines and standards Carbon design system.
• Collaborate directly with your Product managers design team and developers to build out update and modernize software product user interfaces (while using agile methodologies).
• Design business process and user journeys for user interfaces and demos.
• Understand business problems across our customer set and product portfolio to have context for deliverables.
• Collaborate with a wide variety of people (design researchers content designers developers product managers etc.) across our global teams.
• Plan and moderate virtual and in-person design thinking workshops

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Knowledge in solving complex user problems through user interface design creating mock-ups and prototypes (low- and high- fidelity) as well as documenting interaction patterns for product UI.
• Can demonstrate experience with design tools (Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud etc.).
• Can demonstrate design skills for creating visually compelling artifacts icons high fidelity mock-ups and other graphical elements for user interfaces.
• Knowledge on utilizing design system for consistency of designs
• Understanding on designing for and with AI design and principals
• Knowledge of design principles (typography layout imagery color creating efficiencies in visual design workflows etc.)
• Proven communication skills and an ability to drill down to a customer’s requirements
• Comfortable working in a dynamic team-based environment.
• Portfolio of previous work must be presented
• Adaptability and open-mindedness.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Understand modern design thinking and design trends (including responsiveness and accessibility).
• Have an appreciation for detail — every pixel and interaction are important
• Inquisitive attitude to new technology.
