Job Responsibilities

The Senior System Layout Designer is responsible to provide layout technical solutions respecting the timing, cost constraints and customer requirements.

Main areas of responsibilities are:• Develop detailed layout designs and specifications, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.• Layout design, in line with the customer specifications and project requirements.• Layout design for body welding / body assembly / powertrain assembly projects with AutoCAD and Micro Station systems.• Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines. • Design layout trucking Interconnections, trucking and brackets BOMs, long lead parts lists.• Coordinate with and consult other colleagues to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.• Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.• Prepare timely and accurate technical specifications based on customer and project requirements.• Effectively interact with the Process, Design and Simulation teams to create and maintain accurate plant layout design.• Ensure that health and safety standards are respected.• Be an effective team member, working with supervisors and colleagues to ensure the best outputs and results.• Perform feasibility studies to reduce costs.• Define the position of the main energy sources of the plant.• Guarantee the technical support during the phases of assembly and installation.• Attend Design Reviews with colleagues and customers.

Knowledge Skills:

• 2D Cad tools• 2D / 3D CAD layout tools (AutoCad, FactoryCad)• 3D Modeling tools• Knowledge of design techniques and tools involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.• Generating or adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs• Visualization - The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged• NC (nonconformity) management• Open issues management• Safety standards and norms• Technical reports creation

Qualifications:

• A minimum of three years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is needed. Including: general AutoCAD experience, system layout design experience, and FactoryCAD experience.• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
