Desktop System Integration Engineer

Job Description

ASRC Federal Mission Solutions is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems.

We are seeking a Software Engineer to fulfill the position of Desktop System Integration Engineer in support of the development and sustainment of the U.S. Navy Aegis Weapons System in Moorestown, NJ.

Role/Responsibilities:

• Configure and integrate Aegis software components into desktop test suites.
• Ensure desktops are configured, operational, stable, and ready for testing.
• Operate desktop equipment, simulators, peripheral devices, and Aegis system.
• Conduct regular load and cycle and integration testing.
• Write UNIX shell scripts and utility programs to supporting tasking.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues.
• Identify issues and drive integration issues to closure.
• Perform root cause analysis of issues.
• Capture debug and diagnostic information.
• Support test events and on/off-site installations.
• Schedule and coordinate desktop resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• US Citizenship to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Ability to work on-site and in equipment laboratories; support testing which may occur outside regular business hours; work independently and as part of a team.
• Exceptional collaboration, spoken, written, and presentation skills.
• Experience with software development; and Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• 2-4 years' experience integrating hardware or software into a system; computer lab/equipment operations; implementing shell scripts or software development in high-level programming language; system, software, and hardware troubleshooting; UNIX/Linux environments; gathering and analyzing debug information; and writing and executing test procedures

Preferred but Not Required Experience:

• Aegis Weapons System or other real-time mission critical systems.
• DDS, NDDS, OpenDDS, or other publish/subscribe architectures.
• CI/CD and DevSecOps methodologies and tools.
• SAFe or agile development methodologies.
• RedHat, RedHawk, Solaris, PowerMax_OS, HP-RT, HP-UX, VxWorks, LynxOS, or other UNIX/Linux operating systems.
• Jenkins, Jira, ClearQuest, ClearCase, Git, DOORS, and Artifactory.
• Perf, oprofile, or other software profilers.
• AN-UYK-43 computer operation or CMS-2 software development.
• Debugging core files using debuggers such as gdb, with C/C++ executable programs.
• Certifications in cyber security, software development, test, engineering, or agile.
