You have experience honoring students' brilliance, championing teachers, and designing for real classrooms and are eager to collaborate to build and support students to love math and love learning math. You also enjoy holding different perspectives and meeting different needs at once.

- An open invitation to participate in bi-weekly Curriculum Developer meetings and Slack channels relevant to your work.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field.
- At least five years of 6-12 classroom teaching experience

On your first day, you should show up ready to:
- Describe the qualities, features, and resources that make for a great math curriculum.
- Explain what makes teacher moves more or less helpful for facilitating lessons.
- Share your passion for supporting unfinished learning, supporting students with disabilities, and/or supporting multilingual learners.
- Explain how marginalized and excluded communities are affected by the current math education system, and what role curriculum might play in addressing that reality.
- Articulate ways in which technology can help students learn math as well as ways in which technology can hinder students and teachers.
Responsibilities:
What you'll learn more about after you're hired:
- Our philosophies for technology, design, pedagogy, and equity.
- The unique features of the curriculum we're building.
- Our workflow for developing a new unit of lessons and resources, from initial brainstorming all the way to final release.
- The processes and tools we use to organize our work.
Within your first month you'll:
- Introduce yourself on Slack to your new co-workers!
- Familiarize yourself with the existing systems for writing teacher notes, accessibility, and multilingual learner supports, asking thoughtful questions along the way. You'll continue to support and be supported by the rest of the curriculum team throughout your tenure.
- Write some teacher moves, accessibility, and student supports, for existing lessons using Desmos Math 6-A1, Amplify Desmos Math print, and other style guides as resources.
Within your first three months you will:
- Contribute to the development of the Amplify Desmos Math curriculum by creating teacher notes, accessibility, and multilingual learner supports for lessons in Math 6, 7, 8, and Algebra 1.
- Be a part of conversations about ways to improve processes and products to better serve the team of folks writing teacher notes or the teachers and students these notes serve.
- Identify ways that our equity principles can further inform our approach to curriculum development, both in terms of the products we make and the processes we use to make them.
