Destiny Senior Rigging Outsourcing Specialist

Bungie is looking for a talented Rigging Tech Artist to join our team. Are you passionate about enhancing character performance through secondary cloth motion, skin deformation and efficient workflows? Do you see yourself as a force multiplier, ready to guide others to do their best work?

We’re in need of someone with games development experience, who has experience working with outsourced assets and has great communication skills. In this role you will collaborate with an equally passionate team of content creators to build out external 3D and animation content and pipelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES         

• Acquire a deep understanding of our engine and related tools
• Responsible for high quantity of feedback on outsource assets of technical content for various assets meeting Bungie’s shipping quality bar (Skeletons, Rigs, Skin Weighting, Cloth, and more)
• Quality assurance for 3D art and animation content across external assets
• Integration of skin weighting to production content
• Incorporating feedback from Art Direction and the Art Outsource Manager
• Operation of Bungie’s proprietary rigging system and DCC tools and technology
• Documenting processes required to educate artists on new tools or workflows
• Mentorship of internal support team and external vendor artists

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Proficiency at Rigging in Autodesk Maya or equivalent software
• Professional or personal experience working with real-time game engines
• Scripting or Programming experience in Python, C#, C++ or equivalent
• Comfortable with fast iterative development cycles
• Problem solving skills, good collaboration, and a keen eye for detail are critical for success in this role
• Strong communication skills
• Passion for supporting and enabling others
