Developer Advisor

Job Description:

The Developer Advisor is responsible for programming on specific application subsets of the company's application portfolio, participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle, typically for an assigned business unit, client program, or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the implementation of BMC Remedy to ServiceNow.
  • Perform day to day ServiceNow Administration
  • Provide technical support of the ServiceNow Suite including CMDB, Asset Management, Service Management, Incident Management, Problem and Change management, Discovery, Visibility within the production, test, development and DR environments
  • Troubleshoot ServiceNow environment or application issues.
  • Ability to integrate moderately complex hardware and software systems
  • Create/modify ServiceNow workflows according to client needs.
  • Create/modify reports according to client needs.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation.
  • Interact with client management to answer questions and requests regarding system issues.
  • On-Call responsibilities
  • Support Audits

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years technical experience with an ITSM solution, including installation, upgrades, patching, technical support, production support, customizations, new development.
  • 5-7 years technical experience with the ServiceNow suite.
  • 5-7 years of experience with CMDB, Asset Management, Service Management, Incident Management, Problem and Change management, Discovery, Visibility
  • 5-7 years of experience with Remedy User Tool, Import Tool, Developer Studio, Remedy Migrator
  • 5-7 years of experience working in a multi-tenancy environment
  • 5-7 years working in a Windows environment
  • Four or more years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering or operating systems programming.
  • 5-7 years of experience working with one or more structured programming languages
  • This position is part of our FGS (Federal Government Services) division which, per CMS TDL 190275, requires foreign national applicants meet the residency requirement of living in the United States at least three of the past five years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with design principles and applications
  • Experience working with computer hardware, operating system software and desktop applications with a specific concentration in one or more areas
  • Good familiarity with ITIL terms and methodologies
  • Experience configuring and customizing ServiceNow
  • Good Analytical and creative problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of systems
  • Excellent Communication skills to communicate with application developers, customers, support personnel and management; ability to communicate system proposals to management and customers and provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, and team members
  • Organization skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Leadership skills to assist less experienced personnel
  • Mentoring and training skills to guide and direct work of less experienced specialists
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with SAFe Agile framework is preferred.
