We believe that promoting API literacy and building a strong student and educator community is essential to the future of software development and our company. To help us in this mission, we are looking for a talented and hard-working developer advocate to work with our student community and the educators that teach them (in universities, colleges, bootcamps, high schools, etc). 

You will join a global team committed to promoting API literacy among students before they enter the workforce. Our Developer Advocate will play a critical role in building and scaling our U.S. student developer community by promoting the Postman Student Program to students and educators. 

This is a hybrid role, based out of Boston or New York City. 

• Deliver API Workshops and act as the "Postman" presence at campus events
• Develop and implement outreach strategies to reach new students and educators
• Create and maintain API learning content for students
• Improve the completion rate of our student trainings
• Coordinate campus events with Postman Student Experts and Student Leaders
• Onboard students for our Student Leader program and provide relevant resources
• Engage students and educators within public workspaces and online forums
• Help with logistics and respond to queries related to the Student Program (training questions, applications, event sponsorships, etc.)
• Assist with Postman Student Programs documentation and internal team operations

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree as a Recent Graduate, or equivalent experience and/or strong connection to student communities in universities, colleges, bootcamps, high schools, etc.
• Strong familiarity and knowledge of Postman products and APIs
• Experience creating and delivering educational content, especially for developers
• Passionate about the future of software development and helping students/educators
• Proficiency in one or more coding languages
• Demonstrated experience working with developer communities, ideally student developer communities
• Demonstrate strong ownership and an eagerness to take initiative
• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally and across diverse geographies and leverage remote teaming technologies
• Experience making data-driven decisions

This role is based in New York or Boston and the reasonably estimated salary for this role ranges from $76,000-$102,000, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition to our pay-on-performance philosophy, we offer a comprehensive set of benefits, including full medical coverage, flexible PTO, wellness reimbursement, and a monthly lunch stipend. Salaries will vary outside of the listed metropolitan areas & the U.S.
