We are seeking a Developer Customer Support Engineer to join our team.
Job Summary
Provides technical support covering Imprivata products to external customers, partners, and employees. Develops, creates, and modifies computer application software and specialized utility programs. Analyzes Imprivata internal/external needs and develops software solutions to meet those needs. Designs and customizes software for use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiencies. Works individually and as part of a team. Diagnoses and debugs technically complex software in networked and virtualized environments. Quickly and effectively isolates and resolves intricate problems in customer configurations and deployments. Accurately reports and prioritizes product flaws or reliability limits to engineering.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support Imprivata software with a focus on our Privacy Monitoring and Provisioning solutions
  • Design, code, test and implement software (Bridges, Tools, etc.)
  • Deliver releases, functionality, and updates on schedule, with scope as defined
  • Work with teams internally and externally to plan, scope, build, and deliver software
  • Troubleshoot, research, and propose solutions to challenging problems
  • Work independently to design and develop new features and maintain existing features
  • Ensure that system scales to support the largest healthcare organizations
  • Triaging and resolving any issues that arise during the functional and acceptance testing

Required Qualifications
  • Must have technical degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience designing and building solutions
  • Technical experience:
    • Programming languages (preferred):
      • Java, JavaScript, BeanShell , C# (.NET), PowerShell
    • SQL skills with experience in MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server (CRUD)
    • Experience working with XMLs and web services (jetty, IIS)
    • Linux OS/ Cmd line
    • Strong with OO design and development
    • Active Directory (knowledge of basic attributes, user, group management, certificates)
  • Understands basic networking concepts and principals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - experience solving and finding workarounds for issues, often urgent, in customer-impacting production systems while maintaining an overall poise
  • Ability to pick up new programming languages, frameworks, and technologies fast
  • Proven design skills with the ability to work well in a very dynamic, fast moving environment with high expectations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact well with both internal teams and external customers and partners
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodology is a plus
  • Healthcare software experience is a plus
  • Considerable experience with troubleshooting software problems across multiple OS platforms: Microsoft Windows 10/11, MS Windows Server, Thin & Zero computing architectures
  • Advanced troubleshooting of application-level crashes and/or performance hangs
  • Performing in-depth log analysis and event correlation
  • Solid understanding of Software Delivery & Deployment methodologies
  • Experience of Healthcare IT / EMR a plus
