Development Coordinator
Job Description
- Works on projects in prospect/donor research, writing, list compilation, database management and support/reporting functions. Maintains high degree of confidentiality and secures philanthropic dollars for Advocate Aurora Health.
- Maintains small portfolio of individual prospects/donors and focuses on securing gifts of $1,000-$5000.
- Works with team in development, coordination and implementation of cultivation events for prospects and donors including breakfast meetings, luncheons, dinners and other special events.
- Coordinates and leads team of site champions to execute Advocate Aurora Health Give Well campaign at hospital site.
- Builds robust pipeline of donors through prospecting activities including: review of daily gift reports, patient admissions/discharge reports, volunteer/council committee input etc.
- Works with team in preparation of follow-up letters/minutes to meetings and events, acknowledgment letters for gifts, cultivation letters, letters of inquiry, proposals, and donor reports.
- Partners with team on development, implementation and coordination of comprehensive donor and volunteer recognition program. Represents Foundation at community and development events. Identifies and rounds on grateful patients/donors when in-patient.
- Works with Information Systems team to pull lists, audit lists, and produce letters and invitations from lists. Partners with team members to maintain major donor moves.
- Assists with photocopying, filing, preparing interoffice mail, expense reports, check requests, research requests and other similar operational duties as needed.
- Manages process of large mailings including printing of letters and labels, affixing labels and stamps on envelopes, stuffing, sealing and mailing finished product; responsible for quality control through every phase of the mailing.
- Answers phones and fields questions directed to team from both internal and external customers. Coordinates and schedules meetings and appointments, including scheduling rooms, speakers, audio-visual equipment, food, invitations, brochures, publicity and travel arrangements.
- None Required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field.
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in communications or marketing in a not for profit organization.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, The Raiser's Edge.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to think analytically and strategically.
- Accurate data entry skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Position may require travel which may result in exposure to road and weather hazards.
- Exposed to normal office environment.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
