Development Manager
Vanguard Renewables is the premier anaerobic digester developer/owner/operator in the United States. Our closed-loop anaerobic digestion process converts organic waste and cow manure into green electricity or renewable natural gas as well as other related โvalue-addedโ products. We are headquartered in MA, funded by institutional capital partners, and currently, have 20+ projects operating and in development in over 13 states. We have a plan to aggressively expand into other domestic markets.
Vanguard Renewables seeks a Development Manager to be a leader in several states or metropolitan areas executing projects from siting through to construction completion. The Development Manager reports to the Vice President of Development and the Director of Development.
Responsibilities
- Manage all development projects and related functions and activities.
- Ensure project activities comply with company and contract requirements.
- Oversight of day-to-day permitting
- Negotiate definitive agreements and other project related contracts.
- Manage all due diligence requirements including preliminary engineering, manure sampling, operating costs, Geotech reports, environmental reports, surveys, etc.
- Develop, implement, and administer project procedures, budgets and other work controlling documents, including designs, submittals, and schedules,
- Represent company, project and/or department during investor, client and project management meetings.
- Maintain development models for each project, including sources & uses of capital and profit & loss projections.
- Interface with all company departments as required to resolve problems, ensure quality of engineering and construction, etc. in support of overall project schedule including coordination of field scheduling.
- Serve as a mentor to Analysts and Development Associates
- Other duties as may be required, and frequent travel is required.
- Consistent and on-time attendance
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and currently residing in the New England area.
- BA/BS degree required.
- Minimum of 5+ yearsโ experience in a related field
- Ability to travel 50% or more of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated
- Strong experience in design, engineering, permitting, financial analysis and project management preferred.
- Experience planning, organizing, and coordinating multiple projects at the same time.
