Development Operations Architect
Job Description
The Development Operations Architect 6 is responsible for architecting, engineering, and maintaining automated CI-CD (Continuous Integration - Continuous Deployment) pipelines across multiple cloud platforms for the enterprise. Supports technical vision in accordance with enterprise reference architectures, mentors DevOps team, and serves as the DevOps culture liaison to other teams. Responsible for prioritizing and advancing DevOps and other corporate strategic initiatives within technical roadmaps.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on DevOps best practices including, but not limited to, the disciplines of Configuration Management, Containerization, Infrastructure Automation, public cloud management, Database Migrations, and Continuous Integration - Continuous Deployment (CI-CD)
- Identify and implement strategy to adopt ideal CI-CD techniques including Blue-green deployments, A/B testing and Canary Releases
- Design and engineer automated CI-CD pipelines while standardizing tools and practices
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical personnel to further drive strategy of adopting standard automated CI-CD across the enterprise.
- Design, implement, and maintain redundancy and disaster recovery strategies
Basic Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors in computer science or related field
5 years of experience in the following areas:
- Cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred), Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Mesos, Docker Swarm, or Marathon
- Deploying applications in Docker containers
- Continuous integration (CI) tools, preferably Jenkins
- Configuration management automation using Ansible (preferred), Chef, Puppet, or Saltstack
- Automated analytics pipelines using tools such as ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Graylog, Splunk, or AppDynamics (preferred)
- Managing repository and dependency management tools such as Artifactory (preferred) or Sonatype Nexus
- Using and administering Git version control system
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors in computer science or related field
Expertise:
- 8 years' experience in the areas listed in basic qualifications
- Experience supporting agile scrum and/or Kanban teams.
- 3 years experience in the following areas:
- Scripting or programming languages such as bash, python, ruby, groovy, and powershell
- Linux and/or Windows systems administration experience
