The Development Scientist I for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for participating in development and commercialization of immunoassays for an automated system. This person will assist in executing and analyzing experimental data as well as provide and present conclusions with team members as needed. They will participate in characterization, verification and validation of new and modified product designs. Additionally, you will be responsible for documentation of studies performed, including materials, methods, and conclusions.

This position is part of Development Science located in Chaska (Minneapolis), MN and will be an on-site role.You will be a part of the Assay Development team and report to the Supervisor, Development Science. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Participate in the development and commercialization of immunoassays
• Execute experiments, analyze results and present conclusion to teams.
• Work independently and within a team setting.
• Communicate project status and experimental data with cross-functional teams, at all levels and across different cultures via verbal and written communication
• Work in a fast pace environment and maintain timelines for multiple projects
• Identify and implement process improvements within the department/field

The essential requirements of the job include:

• BS in Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or medical related sciences) and 0-2 years of laboratory experience
• Training in Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or medical related sciences), Laboratory Medicine, or other related clinical chemistry experience
• Knowledge of good laboratory practices and scientific methods.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Proven experience in clinical, research or diagnostic setting with knowledge of immunoassay development
• Working knowledge of basic statistical methods
