The Development Scientist II for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for completing assignments requiring independent thought, judgment, and initiative. Individual should require a limited degree of supervision for simple to moderately work and with work instructions/standard operating procedures, with supervision, on new assignments that range from moderate to moderately complexity experiments. Individual should be able to assists in developing new techniques and procedures that lead to greater departmental efficiency. All work must also meet regulatory requirements and follow company policies and procedures. Willingness to work in an ISO9000/FDA regulated environment.
This position is part of the Clinical Chemistry & Immunoassay Research and Development Department located in Chaska, Minnesota and will be on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Participate in the development and commercialization of immunoassays.
- Execute experiments, analyze results and present conclusion to teams.
- Communicate project status and experimental data with cross-functional teams, at all levels and across different cultures via verbal and written communication.
- Work in a fast pace environment and maintain timelines for multiple projects.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the department/discipline.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- BS in Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or medical related sciences) and 2+ years of laboratory experience, or Master's degree with 0-2 years of experience.
- Training in Life Sciences (cell culture, protein purification, conjugation etc)), Laboratory Medicine, or other related clinical chemistry experience
- Knowledge of good laboratory practices and scientific methods.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Relevant experience in clinical, research or diagnostic setting with knowledge of immunoassay development
- Working knowledge of statistical methods and design of experiments
