Development Summer Intern

Sol Systems is seeking a Development Intern for our Utility-Scale Solar Development team. The intern will provide support with range of development, due diligence, and financing activities. This is a great opportunity for students who can take initiative, own their projects, and provide insights and suggestions to the team. 

During the internship, the intern will be given the opportunity to work independently on a research project as well as work in a team to solve day-day problems. The intern will be encouraged to bring new ideas to the table that could add value to our business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site creation - Assist team to create areas of interest for greenfield assets
• Site assessments - Support with vetting sites for acquisition
• Research - Policy, permitting, and community opposition for projects and potential new projects
• Programming - Create program to streamline site origination. Proficiency with computer programming and GIS is recommend for this task.

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
• Previous course work related to Energy Market; renewables technology
• Programming skills (e.g. Python, MatLab. etc.)
• Collaborative team player
• Creative problem solver

Location & Hours: This internship will be based in our Washington, DC office. This internship requires 40 hours per week.

Commitment & Compensation: This is a paid internship. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
