POSITION DESCRIPTION

This role can be located in any CGI office in the US.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Key areas of focus:
• First and foremost, in this role you'll be expected to be a collaborative team player in an Agile-oriented group of technologists. Approach each day with a positive attitude, and be willing to challenge and be challenged! • Daily duties will be focused on operational delivery of private and public cloud infrastructure with thousands of workstation and server class endpoints underpinning software development teams across the globe. • Enthusiastic participation in the collection and analysis of key metrics for the sake of continuous improvement of both the team and systems it's responsible for.

Other duties include the following:
System Administration and Provisioning • Administration of a mixed bag of backend hypervisors and operating systems including VMware ESXi, Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux, Oracle Linux, Oracle Virtual Machine and others in support of various project and operational needs. • Administration of container based technologies including Kubernetes, Rancher, and related products. • Installation and configuration of new and/or rebuilt physical and virtual servers, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements • Research and recommend innovative approaches for system administration tasks, with a strong bias toward automation
Operations and Support • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs • Investigate, troubleshoot, repair and recover from hardware or software failures • Carrying a cell phone and being on-call on a rotational basis
Maintenance • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities • Deploy software packages to workstations using COTS products • Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures • Perform periodic performance reporting and ongoing performance tuning • Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment
General Duties & Responsibilities: • Installation, maintenance and upgrades computer hardware and software systems used for designing and developing company intellectual property • Control user access and passwords • Propose and implement system enhancements that will improve reliability and performance • Cross-train with other personnel on system usage and essential skills • Research, evaluate, recommend and deploy software and hardware products. • Provides new hardware specifications to fellow members based on application needs and anticipated growth

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Systems administration experience including the following technologies:

o Microsoft Windows
o RedHat Linux
o Oracle Linux
o VMWare vCenter• Experience with implementing scalable and redundant systems• Experience with containers and technologies including:
o Kubernetes
o Rancher• Familiarity with scripting and automation languages including:
o PowerShell
o Python• Proficiency with automation tools including:
o Ansible / RunDeck
o Jenkins• Experience with Agile principles and practices• Experience with operating system management and tooling for both Linux and Windows• Excellent troubleshooting and issue resolution skills • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Est. Salary Range (Colorado Only): $66,000-$75,000*

Therefore, this good faith salary range will only apply where this described position will be performed in the state, and should not be considered the compensation range in other locations or for other positions.
