ABOUT THE ROLE

As a DevOps Engineer at Extend, you'll join a team that is focused on building a compelling internal platform made up of self-service APIs, tools and services that our Engineering teams use to help them deliver and maintain software systems. The internal platform includes our AWS infrastructure, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, platform security, and developer experience enhancements. You will work directly with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), have the opportunity to impact all aspects of the current and future direction of our platform, and help shape the culture of a growing company.

 
At Extend, you’ll:

• Manage and deploy AWS infrastructure.
• Focus on the automated build & deployment process, including vulnerability management.
• Build tooling that empowers developers to work more efficiently, effectively, and securely.
• Aid in ensuring that the platform meets PCI and SOC2 compliance requirements.
• Support the goal of moving to an event-driven, containerized, microservice architecture.
• Be an active contributor in team meetings, stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies.

THE CANDIDATE

Ideally, you’ll have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in roles like DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Systems Engineer, or a similar job.
• Understanding of software development life cycle and system/service monitoring.
• The desire and ability to work across multiple projects to support concurrent feature workstreams.
• Experience with cloud configuration management tooling (such as Terraform and CloudFormation).
• Confidence working in a Linux environment, including shell scripting.
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (such as S3, ECS, RDS, Lambda, and API Gateway).
• Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines (such as CircleCI, Jenkins, Travis-CI, etc)
• Experience with Application Performance Monitoring services (such as Datadog and CloudWatch).

Bonus points if you have experience with:

• Docker (or other containerized runtimes)
• Cognito (or other IdP solutions)
• Kafka (or other event-stores and stream-processing systems)
• Kubernetes

The salary range for this role is $110,000 to $130,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on various factors which may include, but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications. You may be eligible to participate in Extend's annual bonus plan, based on individual and organizational performance.
