Ardent is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team.  

This is a Remote position.

Position Description:

Ardent is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support an innovative Federal Agency that can collaborate with Product owners, developers, cloud engineers and operations support personnel to plan, design, test and deliver DevOps pipelines scripts for cloud systems and infrastructure delivery using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) model. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Managing, building, configuring, administering, operating and maintaining all components that comprise the DevOps environment 
  • Developing and maintaining scripts to automate tool deployment to an AWS cloud environment and other tasks 
  • Scripting and maintaining build environments 
  • Working with project teams to integrate their products into the DevOps environment 
  • Strong AWS cloud services understanding and experience 
  • Document, schedule, and executes project software builds. 
  • Document SCM Plans, Release and Build Procedures 
  • Production-level experience in Terraform, Docker, ECS, EKS, ECR, and Fargate
  • Design, configure, and support software build/deploy pipelines (CI/CD, Git, GitLab) 
  • Assist with software deployment through various staged operating environments (e.g., Development, QA, Staging, Production) 
  • Scripting and maintaining build environments
  • Linux and shell scripting 

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in related field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Business Management preferred). 
  • 7+ years of software development experience 
  • 5+ years of experience in a combination of software development and technical operations support 
  • Experience with monolith and micro service architectures 
  • Solid understanding of managing both LAMP stack and java service apps 
  • Cloud-Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) - compliant software stack (Kubernetes) and Open Container Initiative (OCI) Compliant containers (Docker)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from end to end with minimal supervision
  • Expert knowledge of the underlying concepts of Branching, Merging, and Archiving software throughout the development lifecycle 
  • Proven experience managing system changes without interruption to the user 
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration tools such as source control (GIT preferred), build (Maven), and automation (Jenkins) 
  • Understanding of the Agile SDLC and how DevOps plays a role in it 
  • Good communication skills
