What is Aleph Zero?

Aleph Zero is a privacy-enhancing blockchain with instant finality. The platform is based on an original, peer-reviewed consensus protocol and an integration with the Substrate stack. In 2022, we’re working on upgrading the infrastructure with a combination of multi-party computation and zero-knowledge proofs.

With almost 40 individuals focused on the platform’s evolution and adoption, we’re now entering the next stages of growth after a successful deployment of the Aleph Zero Mainnet. In order to reach the next level, we are seeking an in-house experienced DevOps Engineer. If you have a knack for automation and are able to adapt your skillset to the demands of operating an immutable, decentralized ledger and smart contracts platform, read on!

What will you do:

• maintain independence and autonomy in your day-to-day work;

• automate deployment processes whenever possible;

• prioritize high security;

• manage deployments, updates and fixes, actively troubleshoot any problems that might arise before product upgrade launches;

• work with CI/CD services;

• stay up-to-date with the current industry trends, find and propose new ways for us to improve holistically.

What you need to start in this role:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering or a relevant field; alternatively, the ability to showcase your professional track record within the industry;

• experience in working with containers and container orchestration tools is a must, with a strong preference for candidates with a working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes;

• experience using configuration management tools (preferably Terraform).

Nice to have’s:

• knowledge of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud and its provisioned services such as VPC, Route53, EC2, S3, EKS;

• experience with CI/CD pipelines, especially GithubActions;

• previous experience with blockchain and or blockchain-based applications;

• knowledge of scripting languages such as Python / Bash and/or experience in software development;

• strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work independently with a team that is geographically distributed.
