DevOps Engineer

**This position is fully remote.**

**Must RESIDE in the United States and be eligible to work.**

What you will be doing:

• Work closely with Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Science and management to design and implement cloud platform solutions
• Defining and implementing security strategies
• Defining and implementing CI/CD
• Developing infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Cost Monitoring.
• Focus on cost optimization and associated justification
• Focus on lean, low bureaucracy DevOps processes to streamline the SDLC while keeping in line with compliance needs (SOC2)
• System automation to eliminate any manual processes uses scripting tools.
• Create and ensure platform stability with associated monitoring tools
• Review existing and proposed architectures and look for ways to improve
• Build cloud native infrastructure in GCP 
• Working knowledge of Networking Concepts, Storage, and Postgres/SQL Databases
• Maintain, build, and troubleshoot Kubernetes Clusters
• Working with and troubleshooting containerized apps

What you bring to the table:

• 2+ years DevOps / SRE or related experience
• 2+ years of cloud-native software engineering experience
• Direct, relevant experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, etc)
• Some skill/experience with Kubernetes.
• Relevant experience with SQL Databases (Postgres, Elastic, etc) and an understanding of how data pipelines work.
• Strong coding and scripting skills - We work in Python, Go, Dotnet, Bash. Some of us dream in RegEx.
• You prefer CLI over GUI.
• Strong experience with Git and associated techniques (merging, conflict resolution)
• Understanding of software security, defensive coding techniques and left shift security models (DevSecOps)
• Working knowledge of Terraform
• Solid understanding of how APIs work and how to utilize them.
• Experience with structuring Access Control, Cloud Networking
• Experience with Configuration Management tools
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Experience with logging technologies (Datadog, ELK Stack, etc.)
• Knowledge of SRE and DevOps best practices (CI/CD, automated provisioning, Git integration, etc.)
• Experience in Linux, MacOS operating systems
• Experience working with complex network topologies
• Excellent analytical thinking, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
