DevOps Engineer

540 is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help support the rollout of a hybrid cloud API solution for the United States Postal Service (USPS). 540 will be supporting the USPS in 3 core areas: managing APIs in one place, addressing security / compliance and supporting multi-cloud strategy. You will be working with a team of Solution Architects, Developers and SMEs to deploy an Apigee Hybrid management platform across several cloud providers. In this role, you will be responsible for working with the USPS development team to build, deploy and monitor the supporting infrastructure, all in an automated fashion. This team is focused on establishing and employing best practices across the enterprise with an emphasis on security, reliability and maintainability. 

Location: Remote friendly within the continental United States
Citizenship & Clearance Requirement:  per client requirements, must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a USPS clearance. Currently, we are only accepting applicants with an active security clearance that can receive reciprocity due to client requirements 
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of architecture and/or engineering experience
• Hands-on experience with GCP (Google Cloud Provider) and Azure
• Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform
• Kubernetes experience
• Strong networking skills (TCP/IP, SSL, HTTP, DNS, etc.)
• Experience with microservices
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
• Great interpersonal and communication skills

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Apigee API Management experience
• AWS (Amazon Web Services)
• Anthos or similar Service Mesh
• Cloud certifications (AWS, GCP and/or Azure)
