Your Mission 

As a DevOps Engineer at SADA, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
  • Ensuring system uptime SLAs are met and improving system performance
  • Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Identifying cost-reduction opportunities
  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
  • Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
  • Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes

Expectations

Required Travel - 10% travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events. 

Customer Facing - You will interact with customers on a regular basis, sometimes daily, other times weekly/bi-weekly. Common touchpoints occur when qualifying potential opportunities, at project kickoff, throughout the engagement as progress is communicated, and at project close. You can expect to interact with a range of customer stakeholders, including engineers, technical project managers, and executives.

Onboarding/Training - The first several weeks of onboarding are dedicated to learning and will encompass learning materials/assignments and compliance training, as well as meetings with relevant individuals. Details of the timeline are shared closer to the start date. 

Job Requirements

Required Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent job-related experience with 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer (or similar title)

Required Qualifications: 

  • Hands-on experience building Cloud infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure. GCP experience or certification is strongly preferred, as is willingness to obtain a certification quickly.
  • Hands on experience with microservice oriented architectures and associated deployment technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc)
  • Experience with Terraform or similar 
  • Experience with Configuration Management tooling such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet
  • Linux experience, including bash scripting
  • MongoDB or other relational database experience
  • Hands-on experience maintaining and instrumenting CI/CD pipelines, leveraging tools such as CircleCI, Jenkins, Travis, etc.
  • Experience using application monitoring tools to maximize uptime
  • Experience building software to integrate with internal backend systems
  • Hands-on experience with at least one scripting language such as Ruby, Perl, Python, or Javascript
  • Willing to participate in an on-call rotation to ensure application stability
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with FE developers, UX Designers, and Product Managers
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and techniques

Useful Qualifications:

  • Experience working with geospatial data and concepts such as ESRI/ArcGIS, Google Maps, etc.
  • Experience with performance and optimization analysis and an ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems on the back-end
