Job Overview:

Advantest America, a leading Semiconductor Test and Measurement Company, is seeking self-driven and creative individuals to be part of the US ART (Applied Research Team). The US ART is part of a global strategic effort to integrate our test and measurement solutions across the entire semiconductor value chain using cloud, AI, and data analytics technologies.

The DevOps engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving deployment workflow for a moderate sized software development team. You will be working with some existing infrastructure with the opportunity to evaluate and choose the best technologies for the task. The key focus is to collaborate with R D engineers to efficiently deliver machine learning based product releases to our customers.

This position will be located at either our headquarters in San Jose, CA or our Austin, TX office.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Collaborate with developers and engineers to design, deploy, manage and document CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate and optimize deployment of applications and infrastructure on-prem.
• Automate creation and deployment of bare-metal Linux based images.
• Work with IT to enhance IT support for DevOps infrastructure.
• Maintain expert level of product knowledge and applications through self-learning, online learning, OJT, industrial papers, white papers, application notes, etc.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• BA/BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related
• Experience 5+ years SW dev or related position
• Experience 5+ years Linux operating system
• Languages: bash, python or related
• Solid understanding of network communications technology -- Internet, intranet, VPN, TCP/IP, sftp, etc.
• Experience creating bare-metal Linux images
• CI pipelines and tools.
• Jenkins
• Jira or other project tracking tools
• Git
• Docker, Kubernetes or related OCI tools
• Information security best practices
• Good written communication and documentation skills
• Good team collaboration skills
