DevOps Engineer

At UniSystems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our UniQue team in Strasbourg!

We are seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Application Support, Build, and Deployment Specialist with experience in CI/CD, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and ServiceMesh technologies to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, deployment, and support of applications in an on-premises VMware environment.

What will you be doing in this role:

• Design, build, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Ansible, Jenkins, and Argo CD for efficient and automated software deployment.
• Provide deployment support across environments, leveraging Red Hat Cluster Manager for orchestration and Openshift/Kubernetes for containerization and application deployment.
• Work with Docker and Openshift to build, deploy, and manage containerized applications.
• Configure and support ServiceMesh technology, ensuring secure and efficient service communication in microservices architectures.
• Handle deployments and builds in an on-prem VMware environment
• Participate in design discussions and provide technical recommendations for CI/CD, infrastructure, and application deployment.
• Provide ongoing support for applications after deployment, including troubleshooting, monitoring, and optimization.
• Leverage tools such as SonarQube for quality assurance, ensuring the integrity and security of deployed code.
• Provide hands-on support to the deployment team, including participating in troubleshooting sessions and reviewing infrastructure-related documentation.
• Interpret the application development, operations, and infrastructure implications of proposed solutions.
• Utilize architect solutions to implement end-to-end technology solutions that address client business challenges.
• Assess and optimize IT infrastructure, operations, and service delivery to improve efficiency and performance.
• Assist in designing and managing the implementation of new technologies, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project objectives.

• At least 10 years of experience in a relevant industry, business consulting, or technical consulting.
• A strong interest in infrastructure technologies with a willingness to learn and explore emerging trends.
• Familiarity with working in an agile software development environment.
• Hands-on experience with tools and platforms like OpenShift. (exp with Ansible and Terraform is an advantage)
• Proven track record of deploying applications and managing builds using tools like Argo CD, Red Hat Cluster Manager, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub and Openshift.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift, including deployment, management, and scaling of containerized applications.
• Proficiency with Docker and ServiceMesh technologies, ensuring smooth operation of microservices in a containerized environment.
• Experience in bash scripting for automation and task management.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automating testing, building, and deploying applications.
• Experience working in on-premises environments (VMware)
• Strong ability to work in a collaborative environment, participating in design discussions and supporting cross-functional teams.
• Experience working in international/multicultural environments, demonstrating adaptability and collaboration.
• Analytical mindset to assess infrastructure performance and make data-driven recommendations.

Desirable:

• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure
• Familiarity with SonarQube for continuous code quality and security checks.
• Familiarity with ServiceMesh configurations and management for handling complex microservices communication.
• Familiarity with programming languages and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes would be a plus.
