Job Description

Role Purpose

Performing hands-on automation tasks. Dealing with software development, operations, and services. Improving communication, collaboration, and integration between software developers and IT operations personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on automation tasks to treat infrastructure as code.
• Participate in code and design reviews.
• Provide execution of activities related to infrastructure, security, continuous integration, continuous deployment, IT operations and metrics.
• Working with other engineers in the execution of uplifts across build engineering, release engineering, configuration management and environment management practices. May be On-premise, hosted and/or Clouds (AWS and GCP).
• Collaborating with other System Administrators, Developers, Testers, Architects and Business Analysts.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven commercial development experience with AWS Cloud Development, hold at least one valid AWS certificate at associate level or above, and working knowledge about IAM, Route53, VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, CloudFront, DynamoDB, WAF, SQS, etc.
• Good scripting, coding, and a passion for automation. We love PHP, Python, Node.js, Java, Shell.
• Continuous Integration / Continuous (CI/CD) deployment tools such as Jenkins and Bamboo.
• Linux system admin experience. GIT revision control experience. SSO using Active Directory.
• A good knowledge of networking and security.
• Experience with Docker Containers and serverless Lambda environment.
• Experience with infrastructure as code with Terraform, Packer.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef etc.
• Strong proven experience with RDBMS, ideally MySQL, Postgres, RedShift.
• Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving and technical innovation.
• Great communication skills and good problem resolution skills.

Key Deliverables

• Develop and maintain the target state architecture.
• Obtain approval and funding for projects contributing to the target state.
• Oversee the projects that increase our sustainability and prepare for future expansion.
• Identify and promote cost reduction initiatives.
• Continually assess the application portfolio and provide recommendations to eliminate overlaps.
