Job Summary

Commercial Communications Engineering within Comcast's Technology, Product, Experience (TPX) organization is chartered with developing products and platforms for Comcast Business supporting small medium to enterprise customers generating annual revenue of over $1.6 billion. Our focus is to make Comcast backend platforms the best way to deliver unified communications and voice solutions by developing and maintaining in-house software applications that are exposed mainly as APIs to customer devices and internal applications. We also play important role in gathering high volume data from various voice elements and deliver customer insights, trends, and failure detections to engineering operations and business units.

Job Description

Job Summary

As a DevOps Engineer, the candidate should provide technical expertise in deploying applications to the private and public cloud and enhance CICD pipeline. You will need to have knowledge in docker containerization, deploying, scaling services in Kubernetes and automating deployments of Golang applications and Python pipeline data engineering. You will be working in conjunction with the development and operations teams to build dashboards, alerts using Grafana, Prometheus and ELK, and support infrastructure on Openstack environment.

Self-motivated, hard-working, and eager to learn the latest opensource technologies and build quick prototypes, review, and collaborate with engineers located across US, Ireland, and India.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Build and handle CI/CD pipelines to deploy cloud native applications and services
  • Design, deploy and manage scalable and fault tolerant infrastructure to be used by services and applications
  • Deploy updates to applications, services and systems as required and implement integrations when needed
  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and production by work with others to solve the issues
  • Coordinate and run the overall cloud infrastructure and services
  • Install and manage container orchestration software and repositories
  • Use automation tools for infrastructure provisioning
  • Automate deployments and processes as needed to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Works with CI/CD tools and source control
  • Provide technical mentorship and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations
  • Supervise and analyze resource usage to recommend/develop improvements to system capabilities and performance
  • Works with team members to brainstorm on ways to improve processes, deployments and tools. Works with the team to develop best practices
  • Creates and maintains documentation for the process and tools used by the team
  • Stay current with industry trends and source new ways for our business to improve

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Work experience using DevOps toolchain and container orchestrations such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience with cloud platforms including Openstack (preferred) and AWS
  • Experience in building and operating scalable infrastructure stacks
  • Experience in Linux systems administration
  • Experience with deploying applications built on programming language or scripting language such as Golang, Python.
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools like Ansible and Terraform
  • Knowledge or understanding of using and maintaining CI/CD tools such as ArgoCD and Concourse.
  • Experience with monitoring and managing cloud resources, services, and systems.
  • Ability to jointly manage resources, perform moderately sophisticated tasks and resolve complex systems problems
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and multitask as needed
  • Ability to communicate professionally and collegially with technical and management colleagues and team members

Education Qualification & Work Experience Criteria:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Computer Science or IT or equivalent technical field) with 5+ years of equivalent work experience
