Elevator Pitch:

Are you interested in a breadth of technologies from IoT computer systems to the Cloud? Evolv is looking for a DevOps Engineer to expand the skills of the team and help scale our development and test environment capabilities. You will be working with tools such as Terraform, Python, Docker, CircleCI, JFrog, Veracode and AWS. In this role you will be an expert at helping the team with optimizing their builds, writing infrastructure as code to deploy testing infrastructure to AWS, investigating software dependencies for security and compliance vulnerabilities, and launching new products.

Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

In the first 30 days, you will:

  • Participate in “EvolvED”, a week-long orientation program for all new employees
  • Familiarize yourself with the CI/CD platform and build pipelines.
  • Meet with key stakeholders from across Software Development and Quality.
  • Develop an understanding of team needs and goals.
  • Be an active participant in a software release.

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Help optimize the management of software artifacts.
  • Increase the automation and monitoring of software releases.
  • Provide guidance to the team on triaging security and compliance scans.
  • Be a reliable resource for developers.
  • Assist developers triage Security scan results.

By the end of the first year, you will:

  • Be an expert with the CI/CD platform.
  • Lead initiatives to explore new tools and technologies.
  • Be comfortable refactoring build pipelines and deploying test infrastructure.
  • Take ownership of multiple build pipelines and projects.
  • ·Aid in Security monitoring and reporting efforts to obtain company certifications.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

CI/CD Specialist:

  • Write and review YAML configuration as code for build pipelines.
  • Work with teams to identify requirements and translate them into a build process, understanding the options available to best achieve their goals.
  • Optimize build pipelines to ensure costs remain aligned with growth.
  • Automate artifact management to promote a Continuous Delivery platform.

Infrastructure as Code:

  • Develop Dockerfiles for build containers.
  • Develop Terraform for the deployment of build and test infrastructure to AWS.
  • Develop Python code to provide internal tooling to developers and release managers.
  • Develop reusable CI/CD pipelines to standardize team workflows.

Security & Compliance:

  • Extend security and compliance scanning into the developer environment to proactively address risks.
  • Lead in the triaging of risks and aid developers with resolutions.
  • Provide reports and metrics to aid management in certification processes.

Platform Engineering:

  • Extend internal tools to streamline the release process.
  • Provide metrics for developers and quality assurance to empower Continuous Delivery of software.
  • Develop self-service infrastructure to enable test environments.

You will be joining the growing DevOps team in the Software Organization and reports to the DevOps Architect.

Where is the role located?

This role is based out of our HQ in Waltham, MA with some flexibility in being remote some days.

 What is the salary range?

 The base salary range for this full-time position is $119,000-$191,000+ equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
