DevOps engineer - Managed Services

We are seeking qualified DevOps engineers to join our growing Cloud Data Operations and services team in Bangalore, India, as we continue our rapid growth with an expansion of our Indian subsidiary, phData Solutions Private Limited. This expansion comes at the right time with increasing customer demand for Data and platform solutions.

As a DevOps engineer on our Consulting Team, you will be responsible for technical delivery for technology projects related to Snowflake, Cloudera, Cloud Platform (AWS/Azure/Google), and services hosted on Cloud.

Typical Responsibilities include:

  • Ability to learn new technologies in a quickly changing field
  • Owns execution of Tasks and questions around Tasks other DevOps Engineers are working on related to the project. 
  • Responds to Pager Incidents. Solves hard and challenging problems. Goes deep into customer processes and workflows to solve issues 
  • Good understanding of Snowflake or Hadoop and native cloud (AWS/AZURE):IAM, S3, EC2, Kinesis, Sagemaker, Data Factory, ADLS. Also, help answer questions and troubleshoot. 
  • Is prescriptive with customers/internal team on how best to use the Cloud Platform. Directs application teams on best practices. 
  • Good understanding of Python, Snowflake, Ansible, and CI/CD. Can propose, design, and provision cloud service solutions on AWS/Azure. 
  • Continually grow, learn, and stay up-to-date with the MS technology stack. 
  • 24/7 rotational shifts

Mandatory and Desirable Skills 

  • Good to have knowledge of snowflake administration and certification on SnowPro.
  • Hand-on and strong knowledge in one of the native clouds (AWS/Azure). Should have contributed to designing and provisioning cloud service solutions and certified on any one cloud (AWS/Azure).
  • Should have substantial working experience in any RDBMS (Redshift/Mysql/synapse).
  • Good understanding of writing and understanding python programs.
  • Good working knowledge of SQL.
  • Hands-on on CI/CD tools like bitbucket and Github
  • Good understanding of the Hadoop ecosystem. Provide recommendations on optimal use. Can troubleshoot harder issues
  • Strong understanding of Unix/Linux
  • Prior experience in supporting Unix or Application server Infrastructure is preferred.  
  • Prior Experience in managing or Supporting Cloudera, Apache Hadoop, etc. is preferred. 
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Open to learning new technology stacks and up-skill/training the other team members.
