We are looking for a Senior Engineer that has worked on cloud infrastructure solutions to join our team. You will work closely with Fast software engineers & use your expertise in this space to identify improvements in our systems and to benefit their work. Responsibilities
  • Architect and deliver cloud infrastructure solutions in AWS and Kubernetes
  • Configure and leverage features in Cloudflare CDN
  • Contribute to ongoing maintenance and security related updates to our infrastructure
  • Use your deep experience in this problem space to identify and advocate for improvements to our systems
  • Scope and design features that may be executed on by other team members
  • Empower engineers on our product teams by listening to feedback, gathering ideas and identifying actionable improvements that will benefit their work
  • Effectively train and educate engineers on the operation and usage of features you are responsible for. For example by holding browbags and creating documentation.
  • Contribute to the team on-call rotation. This includes keeping alerts tuned to avoid non-actionable pages, writing runbooks and proposing changes to alerting/monitoring.



Requirements
  • Experience with Terraform and understanding of Terraform API and features.
  • Advanced understanding of a wide range of cloud primitives and their usage. For example IAM concepts, load balancers, compute and storage
  • Working knowledge of security best practices in AWS
  • Expertise in Kubernetes including experience in a major roll in building and maintaining one large-scale Kubernetes project.
  • Have opinions on how to properly utilize and scale Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of kubernetes configuration management tools like Heml and Kustomize.
  • Understanding of the interactions between applications and infrastructure
  • Proficient in bash



Plus
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases for example we utilize DynamoDB and Redis
  • Istio experience
  • Have authored or contributed to OSS Terraform providers or modules
  • Interest in the other responsibilities the team covers and the tools they use. This includes CI/CD using Spinnaker, Bazel and Buildkite. Scripting in GoLang.
