DevOps Engineer
Columbia, MD
TS/SCI is required (Poly is desired)
- This role involves DevOps Engineering in Linux cloud environments, using Ansible / Docker / AWS. In addition to spinning up environments, the person in this role can expect to be involved in merging AWS missions to replace some "hacks" that are currently used to ensure that cross-mission integrations work. The current build tool (custom-built in-house) will also likely by updated using cdk or cdktf. Working with Data Scientists is likely, as our Engineer and the team have recently helped some of the Data Scientists automate their dashboards. Lots of new technologies end up getting involved in the project, so it is a role that requires flexibility and is best filled by someone who likes to tinker around and figure new technologies out. For example, the team integrates COTS products into their environments, so our engineer has learned Elasticsearch, Nexus, NiFi, and Prometheus while being part of our team. The team also has an EMR cluster that utilizes Apache Ranger and Kerberos to control access to Hue, which allows Data Scientists to explore data.
Requirements
- DevOps experience in Linux environments
- AWS experience (Cloudformation, EC2, S3, Lambda, Dynamo, Route53, CloudWatch, IAM, Secrets Manager, API Gateway, SQS, and SNS are all used)
- Docker container experience
- Ansible experience
