DevOps Engineer III

Location: US Remote, Dallas, TX preferred

Career Level: Mid-Level or Senior-Level

What You Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer or similar role in a production cloud environment.
• Solid experience with Kubernetes for orchestration of Docker containers.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code using Terraform and Helm.
• Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Go, or Node.js.
• Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (AWS or GCP).
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on pragmatic implementation and practical decision making.
• Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as encryption, certificates, and key management.
• Experience with CI pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, or CircleCI.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Terragrunt and Helmfile.
• Familiarity with Datadog for monitoring and analytics.
• Experience with Crossplane and Submariner.
• Experience with CD tooling, such as ArgoCD or Keptn.
• Familiarity with security tooling like KubeScape, Trivy, and SentinelOne.
• Any other experience with common SRE/DevOps tools and practices is a plus.

What You’ll Do:

• Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
• Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
• Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support the platform outside of standard business hours.
