Role Overview: As a DevOps Intern you will work closely with agile teams and technical leadership to help deliver the best solutions for our customers. You will allow our engineers to develop and deploy solutions faster with less friction. You will democratize data and open up insights for our entire organization. You will bring best practices and procedures to our growing SAAS platform. We are building the next generation of our platform and as part of that we are investing in a lot of new architectural components. You will have the opportunity to get in at the inflection point and help to design and guide the next stages. We believe in learning on-the-job and as part of this high performing small team, you'll learn tons of new technologies and bring your previous experience to help us make the best choices going forward. Our DevOps team has managed to successfully automate a lot of processes and stabilize our platform and has a great work-life balance that allow us to spend a lot of time researching new technology and not be stuck responding to incidents.
Who You Are:
  • A recent graduate or expecting graduation in next three months.
  • Must be a self-learner and able to work independently without supervision & able to deliver on time under tight deadlines
  • Strong coding knowledge.
  • A love of terminal programming and not reliant on user-interfaces.
  • Good hands-on experience in programming knowledge (Python or Shell script) to automate repeated tasks.
  • Good analytical & debugging skills - able to differentiate the Infra vs Application related issues.
  • Ability to optimally articulate technical challenges and solutions.
  • Ability to clearly document and communicate architectural concepts at multiple levels.
  • Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail.
  • A desire to learn something new every day

What You'll be Doing:
  • Partner with our DevOps team to evaluate and implement technologies that improve efficiency, performance and reliability of the Linux Infrastructure.
  • Automate application build and infrastructure deployment pipelines.
  • Assist with establishment of continuous delivery, deployment, monitoring, feedback and testing.
  • Support with designing and building scalable and reliable systems and infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot incidents as they arise and conduct post-mortems
  • Ensure high quality monitoring coverage of deployed elements
  • Develop self-service processes and tools for development teams
  • Collaborate with development teams to utilize container best practices

Role Requirements:
  • The ability to work 24 hours per week for a period of minimum eight weeks.
  • Linux One Year experience.
  • Bash One Year experience.
  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited university or a recent graduate.
  • Be an adaptable team player and fast learner who understands the changing world of IT.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must have basic understanding of AWS or Azure cloud.
  • Must be able to navigate between automation and regular activities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Jenkins or Python is a plus .
